Job Description

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is seeking candidates with cybersecurity and technology expertise to serve as Special Agents in San Antonio, Texas. In this role, you will apply investigative judgment to matters involving potential federal law violations, cybersecurity issues, and public safety concerns, collaborating with diverse law enforcement partners.

This position requires readiness for law enforcement duties, coordination across agencies, and the ability to travel as needed. Special agent training and access to modern investigative tools support skill development as you transition from technology-focused work into casework that protects communities and critical national interests.

Role Overview

  • Plan and conduct investigations of potential violations of federal laws, cybersecurity, and public safety.
  • Apply judgment, resourcefulness, and versatility to meet investigative demands.
  • Develop and maintain liaison relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law enforcement agencies.
  • Maintain a level of physical fitness required to perform law enforcement duties.

Location

  • San Antonio, TX (onsite)

Compensation

  • USD 103,326 - 133,200 per year

Eligibility and Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Clearance.
  • Must be willing to travel as required.
  • Must meet the FBI’s Employment Eligibility requirements.

Education

  • Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or higher (preferably in computer science, engineering, data science, information technology, or a related field) from a U.S. accredited college or university.
