Special Agent: Cybersecurity/Technology Expertise
Job Description
This role applies cybersecurity and technology expertise to investigative work for potential violations of federal laws affecting cybersecurity and public safety. The position is based in New Orleans, Louisiana, with onsite duties and travel as needed.
Role Overview
As an FBI Special Agent, you will investigate potential violations of federal laws related to cybersecurity and public safety. The work involves investigative planning and execution, coordination with law enforcement partners, and maintaining the physical readiness required for law enforcement duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct investigations of potential violations of federal laws, cybersecurity, and public safety.
- Apply judgment, resourcefulness, and versatility to meet investigative demands.
- Develop and sustain liaison relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law enforcement agencies.
- Maintain a level of physical fitness to support readiness for law enforcement responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Clearance.
- Must be willing to travel as required.
- Must meet the FBI’s Employment Eligibility requirements.
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher (preferably in computer science, engineering, data science, information technology, or a related field) from a U.S. accredited college or university.
Compensation
$103,326.00–$133,200.00 per year. Salary is commensurate with base, locality, and availability pay.
New Orleans, LA, onsite. Work also includes time “on the road.”
