Job Description

Federal Bureau of Investigation offers the opportunity to apply a cybersecurity and technology background to investigations that support public safety. This full-time special agent role is based in Birmingham, AL and is conducted onsite, with on-the-road work as required. Compensation for this position ranges from USD 103,326 to 133,200 per year, with pay commensurate with base, locality, and availability pay.

With a bachelor’s degree or higher requirement, this role brings together investigative planning and field work, including collaboration across multiple levels of law enforcement. Successful candidates will also be positioned to meet the demands of federal law enforcement duties, including fitness standards and clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct investigations involving potential violations of federal laws, including cybersecurity and public safety matters.
  • Apply judgment, resourcefulness, and versatility to address changing investigative demands.
  • Build and maintain effective liaison relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law enforcement agencies.
  • Maintain a level of physical fitness to support readiness for law enforcement duties.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Clearance.
  • Must be willing to travel as required.
  • Must meet the FBI’s Employment Eligibility requirements.

Salary

Pay level: $103,326.00–$133,200.00 per year. Salary is commensurate with base, locality, and availability pay.
