Special Agent: Cybersecurity/Technology Expertise

The FBI Special Agent role blends cybersecurity and technology expertise to counter cyber threats and safeguard national security. Role Overview

This assignment centers on applying cybersecurity and technical acumen to investigate cyber-related activity and support national security objectives. The role includes formal training, real-world investigative work, and pathways for professional advancement within a federal law enforcement context.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead investigations into potential federal law violations, cybersecurity incidents, and public safety concerns.
• Apply sound judgment, resourcefulness, and versatility to meet investigative demands.
• Establish and sustain productive liaison relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law enforcement partners.
• Maintain the physical fitness required to perform law enforcement duties at the necessary readiness level.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Clearance.
• Must be willing to travel as required.
• Must meet the FBI’s Employment Eligibility requirements.

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in computer science, engineering, data science, information technology, or a related field.

Compensation

Salary range: USD 103,326 – 133,200 per year.
