Job Description

In Billings, Montana, the FBI seeks a Special Agent who blends cybersecurity and information technology expertise with investigative rigor. This on-site role sits at the intersection of threat detection, cyber investigations, and collaboration with partner agencies to safeguard national security and protect critical systems. The position supports a mission to strengthen public safety through proactive analysis and law enforcement operations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct investigations into potential violations of federal laws, cybersecurity incidents, and public safety concerns.
  • Exercise judgment, resourcefulness, and versatility to meet investigative demands.
  • Create and maintain effective liaison relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law enforcement partners.
  • Maintain the physical fitness required to perform law enforcement duties.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Clearance
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Meets the FBI’s Employment Eligibility requirements
  • Master’s degree or higher from a U.S. accredited college or university

Salary

Pay range: $103,236.00 – $133,200.00 per year. Salary is commensurate with base pay, locality, and availability pay.
