Job Description

Gloucester County, VA is seeking a Senior Software Analyst/Cybersecurity to serve as the principal lead for planning, implementing, and managing the County’s cybersecurity systems, mobile device management (MDM) environment, website, and related applications. In this onsite role in Gloucester, the position supervises supporting teams and helps ensure secure, reliable technology services through monitoring, incident response, and ongoing platform administration.

Working under the Director of Information Technology, this advanced role combines leadership with hands-on technical responsibility across cybersecurity initiatives, threat monitoring, incident detection and recovery, and secure mobile and web operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, assign, review, and evaluate the work of cybersecurity, MDM, and application support team members, including County staff, vendors, and contractors.
  • Lead planning, implementation, and management of County cybersecurity systems, MDM platforms, websites, and related applications.
  • Develop, document, and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures to safeguard County systems, networks, and applications.
  • Oversee administration of the MDM environment, supporting secure configuration, monitoring, and management of mobile devices, applications, and data.
  • Coordinate development, maintenance, and security for the County’s website and associated web applications.
  • Direct incident detection, response, and recovery processes for cybersecurity threats and breaches.
  • Monitor cybersecurity tooling including intrusion detection systems, firewalls, and SIEM platforms for suspicious activity.
  • Coordinate documentation, training materials, and user guidance for cybersecurity, MDM, and website systems.
  • Plan and oversee upgrades, enhancements, and integrations involving cybersecurity, MDM, and website platforms.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to IT staff, vendors, and contractors supporting cybersecurity and related applications.
  • Support County end-users with cybersecurity, MDM, and website-related training, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
  • Perform other related duties to support the secure and effective operation of County cybersecurity systems, MDM, and web applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Eight (8) or more years of progressive cybersecurity, systems analysis, or IT project management experience.
  • Four (4) or more years of experience in cybersecurity or MDM administration and support is required.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including NIST, CIS Controls, and ISO 27001.
  • Familiarity with MDM platforms and endpoint management solutions.
  • Experience with SIEM, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and security monitoring tools.
  • Understanding of Systems Development Lifecycles, project management methodologies, and process improvement frameworks such as Lean and Six Sigma.

Location: Gloucester, VA (onsite). Compensation: USD 80,393 to 120,590 per year.
