Senior Cybersecurity Analyst - Assessment & Authorization
Job Description
The Senior Cybersecurity Analyst will support Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard (PHNSY) by managing and renewing Authority-to-Operate (ATO) packages under the Risk Management Framework (RMF). The role focuses on security assessments, control validation, and the authorization documentation needed to support risk mitigation.
Role Summary
This position serves as a senior assessment and authorization specialist for military information systems, networks, and platforms. Responsibilities include leading RMF activities, producing assessment and executive reporting, and partnering with relevant teams to address security events and strengthen security posture through validated controls.
Onsite Location
Honolulu, HI (onsite). Candidates must reside in Oahu and be available to interview immediately.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed assessment reports and executive-level presentations covering assessment outcomes, risk analysis, and recommended mitigation actions.
- Maintain and update the Assessment & Authorization (A&A) tracker.
- Perform comprehensive security assessments to identify configuration deviations and security policy non-compliance across military systems, networks, and platforms.
- Lead RMF execution, including security control evaluations, vulnerability assessments, and support for authorization documentation.
- Ensure alignment with DoD cybersecurity requirements, including AR 25-2, AR 380-19, and NIST SP 800-53, while contributing to the development and refinement of security policies and procedures.
- Conduct in-depth analysis and validation of security controls to confirm effectiveness in reducing identified risks.
- Collaborate with incident response teams to investigate and resolve security events by determining root causes and implementing corrective measures.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to junior analysts and staff on cybersecurity principles, tools, and best-practice methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 6-10 years of experience in cybersecurity roles, including at least 3 years specializing in military technical security evaluations.
- Previous Assessment & Authorization (A&A) experience is highly desired.
- ServiceNow ticket management experience preferred.
- CISSP, CISM, or CAP certification required.
- CompTIA Security+.
- Proven experience working with Risk Management Frameworks.
- Clear understanding of DoD systems.
- Proficiency with security assessment tools and methodologies.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and security architecture.
Security Clearance and Availability
- Full-time onsite role requiring the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
- Must be eligible for a background investigation.
- Must be available to interview immediately.
Support Requirements
This position may require night, weekend, or holiday support.
Compensation
- Typical salary range: $100,000 - $130,000 per year.
- Compensation varies by candidate based on education, experience, certifications, and other factors, and may fall outside the stated range.
