Job Description

The Senior Cyber Security Engineer - ISSO role at Alpha Team Solutions, Inc, based in Quantico, Virginia on a hybrid schedule, supports the Marine Corps through RMF based cybersecurity, cloud security, and secure software authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Security and Information Assurance lead for the Government Client's cloud initiatives, primarily AWS heavy, and direct security engineering efforts across the program.
  • Provide expert guidance on information assurance to support existing systems and evaluation of new technologies.
  • Lead the Authorization to Operate process, ensuring compliance with MARFORCYBER RMF requirements and applicable standards including NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-53, FEDRAMP, and agency directives.
  • Analyze systems, networks, and architectures to verify security compliance across technical, procedural, and management controls.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate appropriate security controls for secure and efficient software and system operations.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive suite of security artifacts, such as System Security Plans, Security Assessment Reports, Risk Assessment Reports, POA&Ms, and related documents.
  • Manage vulnerability analysis, review scanning results, and implement mitigations for operating systems and applications.
  • Serve as the principal advisor for secure software authorization, partnering with development teams to embed security throughout the software lifecycle and support secure deployment.
  • Ensure smooth progression through the RMF lifecycle to enable and sustain government authorizations for systems and software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or related technical field.
  • IAT Level II minimum.
  • Active SECRET clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • 10+ years of IT systems security and information assurance experience in IC/DoD environments.
  • Strong expertise in NAVY / MARFORCYBER RMF, DCID 6/3, DIACAP, or related frameworks.
  • Experience with secure cloud and distributed system operations.
  • Relocation to Quantico, VA before starting work (Required).
