Senior Cloud Security Engineer - K8s

Datadog is hiring a Service Mesh and Kubernetes-focused Cloud Security Engineer to tackle cloud infrastructure security challenges and help teams build and ship secure solutions. This hybrid role in New York, NY partners across internal groups, delivers and extends Platform Security capabilities, and contributes to infrastructure security direction for Datadog’s products.

What you’ll do

• Work on Datadog’s most challenging cloud infrastructure security problems, starting from core building blocks and “golden paths.”
• Help engineers move faster by enabling the secure design and delivery of solutions.
• Build and extend Platform Security solutions at Datadog.
• Use product and infrastructure security experience to influence how Datadog secures its infrastructure, and provide internal feedback that improves products for both internal teams and customers.
• Contribute to internal guidance that enables teams to address systemic security issues through implementation, not only recommendations.

What you bring

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related scientific field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Drive to advocate for and implement solutions to complex problems at scale in a large multi-cloud environment.
• Experience in Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, or Cloud Security.
• Experience developing, deploying, and extending service mesh systems in production Kubernetes environments.
• Software engineering background with hands-on code review experience using Go, Python, or Rust.
• Experience with one or more Kubernetes PKI and network technologies such as Consul, Envoy, Cillium, Vault, Istio, or similar.
• Experience with one or more major cloud providers: AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus Kubernetes.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Commitment to staying current on modern security best practices, technologies, and emerging threats.

Compensation

USD 187,000 - 240,000 per year.
