Security Engineer - OpenSSL or MPC- Blockchain nodes/APIs - Intel SGX

Syncreon Consulting is seeking a Security Engineer who specializes in OpenSSL or MPC for blockchain nodes and APIs, with hands on Intel SGX experience. The role emphasizes secure software development and cryptography, requiring fluency in secure coding with C/C++, Go, or Rust, plus deep familiarity with cryptographic libraries, MPC frameworks, and threat modeling around blockchain transactions. This onsite position is based in New York, NY.

Requirements

• Expertise in secure software development
• Expertise in cryptography engineering
• Proficiency in secure coding practices in C/C++, Go, or Rust
• Experience using or auditing cryptographic libraries (OpenSSL or MPC-specific libraries)
• Familiarity with hardware security features (Intel SGX and HSMs)
• Comfort working with MPC or cryptographic frameworks used for crypto custody solutions
• Strong threat modeling skills to anticipate and mitigate attack vectors (e.g., MITM during MPC rounds, malicious client apps)
• Experience with cryptographic protocols (implementation or auditing of key exchange or signature schemes)
• Knowledge of common security pitfalls (weak RNG, improper error handling leaking information)
• Experience integrating with blockchain nodes and APIs
• Understanding of blockchain transaction formats (Bitcoin UTXOs, Ethereum RLP)
• Ability to parse and create transactions for signing
• Knowledge of secure storage and databases
• Familiarity with cloud security to avoid misconfigurations
• Familiarity with containerization for deployment
• Experience with Trusted Execution Environments including remote attestation (eg Intel SGX)
