Security Engineer

Mary Kay Inc seeks a Security Engineer to build and operate security platforms and detection capabilities across cloud-native environments, prioritizing automation, cloud security, Kubernetes security, and threat detection in collaboration with platform, DevOps, and security teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security platforms and automation pipelines.
• Develop integrations using APIs and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Improve security across cloud, containers, Kubernetes, and CI/CD processes.
• Create and fine‑tune detections for cloud, endpoint, identity, and container threats.
• Support threat hunting activities and incident response efforts.
• Contribute to Detection‑as‑Code initiatives and related automation.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in Security Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevSecOps, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree; security certifications such as Security+, AZ-500, AWS Security Specialty, or CKS are preferred.
• Experience with Linux.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and container technologies.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Experience using Git and automation tooling.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Experience with SIEM/EDR platforms (Microsoft Sentinel, Defender XDR, Splunk, Elastic, CrowdStrike, Chronicle, Cortex XSIAM) is preferred.
• Experience with cloud security tools (Wiz, Prisma Cloud, Defender for Cloud, Orca, Lacework) is preferred.
• Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Helm) is preferred.
• MITRE ATT&CK knowledge is preferred.
• Threat hunting experience is preferred.
