SECURITY ANALYST
Job Description
Glynn County Government is seeking a Security Analyst to support county departments through technical project work, software and system analysis, and ongoing application and platform maintenance. This role coordinates development and implementation efforts while providing technical support across a range of computing, database, and web related systems used by county teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and conduct software development, modification, or implementation projects by reviewing work orders, identifying priorities, setting projected completion timeframes, and managing regular maintenance scheduling and major project planning.
- Perform analyses to identify computerization needs for county users, including conducting surveys, compiling and analyzing data, and evaluating department reports and forms to assess strengths and weaknesses in existing workflows.
- Collaborate with users to define workflow details, input data and output requirements, internal controls, and computer system requirements.
- Write new programs or modify existing programs, including coding in computer languages, testing program reliability, making corrections, maintaining program code, installing programs, and coordinating data conversion between programs and systems.
- Maintain and enhance existing or completed software applications to align with changing user requirements.
- Design, develop, and implement databases, manipulate data to produce required reports and documentation, and administer databases.
- Design, develop, and implement computer systems and administer servers.
- Serve as the county’s Webmaster by designing and constructing websites, implementing website changes and revisions, writing or modifying code for web systems and content, managing web content to keep it current, and responding to public information requests.
- Design, develop, and implement county email and Internet systems, and manage, monitor, troubleshoot, and support Internet and email systems and related functions.
- Manage specific data for departments as needed, including telecommunication and switchboard system functions such as installations and maintenance, and create reports or files for department users.
- Prepare, develop, and deliver slide shows and presentations as needed.
- Maintain a working knowledge of relevant programming languages, operating systems, and software programs tied to activities such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, report generation, desktop publishing, presentations, graphics and multimedia, web development and design, networking and communications, diagnostic and utilities, Internet, and email, along with the programs used by county departments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Programming, or a closely related field.
- Supplemented by three (3) years of previous experience and/or training covering computer programming, software configuration, data analysis, database design and administration, networking systems, computer operations and maintenance, and project coordination; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
Location and Compensation
- Location: Brunswick, GA (onsite)
- Salary: USD 70,498 per year
- Minimum Experience: 3 years
