Job Description

Xcel Energy seeks a security focused tester to oversee the testing lifecycle, provide cyber security guidance, and lead vulnerability management and security technology initiatives in a Minneapolis, MN onsite role.

Responsibilities

  • Test planning: craft strategies, detailed plans, and test cases.
  • Testing techniques: apply functional, regression, performance, and chaos testing methods.
  • Execution: run test cases and document results.
  • Defect management: drive remediation efforts and report defects.
  • Project support: assist project managers and IAM leads to ensure test coverage and acceptance criteria are met.
  • Integration testing: coordinate user acceptance testing and support non-functional testing.
  • Collaboration: work with IAM and business teams to improve quality practices and delivery effectiveness.
  • Time management: work independently to complete assignments on schedule with accountability for outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, technology, accounting, business, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in information technology, including at least 1 year of direct cyber security experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven analytical, problem solving, and business risk analysis capabilities.
  • Effective team player with the ability to collaborate in a group environment.
  • Solid investigative, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
  • Broad IT infrastructure knowledge with current hands-on experience across multiple operating systems and desk-side integration.
  • Software tools: proficient in SailPoint IIQ; knowledge of JIRA and Selenium.

Preferred Requirements

  • Advanced to expert level experience with IAM solutions, emphasizing identity governance and related processes.
  • In-depth IAM concepts including access requests, certifications, provisioning, RBAC, automated provisioning/deprovisioning, and user lifecycle management.
  • SailPoint IdentityIQ and its integration with various systems and applications.

Compensation

Salary range: USD 73,700 - 104,633 per year

Starting pay (non-bargaining): USD 73,700 - 104,633 per year
