Job Description
Raytheon’s S3E division in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Principal Software Security Engineer to advance real-time missile software security on embedded platforms. The role emphasizes C and C++ development for deployed missile systems and requires eligibility for an interim DoD Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship.
Responsibilities
- Deliver world-class security software for deployed missile systems.
- Require understanding of real-time software design and the performance implications of System Security implementations.
- Involve in application and embedded software design, development, integration, and testing of real-time missile software.
- Apply System Security principles to missile software design and implementation.
- Develop software in C and C++ across multiple computing platforms.
- Understand how the team’s efforts fit into the overall missile system and develop or review source-level solutions.
- Work closely with the Systems Security Engineering team to define and implement requirements.
- Operate in a common development environment to enable programs to leverage specific capabilities.
- Interface with the customer community to review technical design and support verification of system maturity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of relevant software experience.
- Experience with C and C++.
- Experience with Xilinx UltaScale+ MPSoC, Versal, or similar embedded processors.
- Experience with embedded operating systems such as VxWorks, Embedded Linux, or similar.
- Embedded software security experience.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret clearance prior to start; U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

This position is onsite at our campus in Tucson, AZ, a city noted for its bright blue skies and more than 310 sunny days per year.
Compensation
Salary: USD 107,500 - 204,500 per year.
