PGO Cybersecurity Spring Co-op
Job Description
Duke Energy’s PGO Cybersecurity Spring Co-op provides currently enrolled college students hands-on exposure to securing critical operational technology (OT) environments that support the electric grid.
Responsibilities
- Support efforts to secure critical OT environments for electric grid operations
- Gain exposure to substation cybersecurity, cyber asset management, and vulnerability management
- Participate in related activities including patching, compliance, and risk management
- Contribute to incident response efforts and cybersecurity program governance activities
- Work with cybersecurity analysts, engineers, and operations personnel on asset inventory reconciliation
- Assist with cybersecurity assessments alongside analysts, engineers, and operations personnel
- Support technology deployments in collaboration with cybersecurity and operations teams
- Participate in process improvement initiatives with stakeholders across teams
- Support data analysis efforts as part of ongoing cybersecurity activities
- Build technical and professional skills while learning about Duke Energy’s cybersecurity program, electric utility operations, regulatory requirements, and the role of cybersecurity in power grid reliability and resilience
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in and pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in an IT or Engineering related major, including:

- Computer Engineering
- Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
- Must not graduate prior to August 2027

Location and Work Model
- Location: Lake Mary, FL (hybrid)
- Hybrid: Work performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period
- Commute: Hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to the designated Duke Energy facility
- Transportation: Reliable, consistent transportation required for timely arrival
Working Conditions
