Penetration Tester

Dynamo Technologies LLC is building a strong Cybersecurity Program and needs a penetration testing professional to help strengthen defenses across NCUA-operated systems. This onsite role supports agency penetration testing efforts and includes reporting that drives remediation priorities. The position is part of a proposal with an estimated start in early 2027 if awarded.

Based in Alexington, VA with minimal travel, the Penetration Tester will coordinate and execute test activities, translate results into clear documentation, and help align penetration testing with broader security engineering work such as vulnerability assessments, threat modeling, and incident response/reporting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and conduct agency penetration testing on NCUA-operated systems.
• Develop and maintain Penetration Testing Concept of Operations/SOPs.
• Coordinate assessment models with NCUA before each engagement.
• Draft Rules of Engagement and test-specific documents.
• Perform red teaming, blue teaming, purple teaming, adversary emulation, and breach-and-attack simulation to improve SOC operations and the overall defensive posture.
• Simulate advanced persistent threat (APT) scenarios.
• Document and categorize findings and vulnerabilities, then prioritize remediation by severity.
• Draft and publish penetration test reports covering results, findings, and remediation.
• Integrate penetration testing with vulnerability assessments, threat modeling, and incident response/reporting.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience conducting, supporting, or leading penetration tests.
• Strong understanding of operating systems and networking protocols.
• Strong understanding of how to identify and exploit vulnerabilities.
• Knowledge of web application technologies.
• Proficiency with penetration testing tools and scripting languages, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Nice to Have

• Preferred certifications comparable to OSCP or CEH.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

Compensation & Location

• Salary range: USD 115,000 - 135,000 per year
• Location: Alexandria, VA (onsite)
