Open-Rank Tenure-Track Faculty

Georgia Tech’s School of Cybersecurity and Privacy is seeking Open-Rank, tenure-track faculty candidates working across Cybersecurity and Privacy. The school also welcomes applications in emerging or interdisciplinary areas that extend the boundaries of the field. This onsite role in Atlanta, GA combines research leadership with teaching responsibilities and service across the academic units.

The School of Cybersecurity and Privacy (founded in September 2020) is ranked #2 in Cybersecurity and is one of five schools within Georgia Tech’s #6 ranked College of Computing. The school includes 25+ faculty working toward a mission of “Building security in everything, for everyone, every day.” Faculty teach topics spanning public policy, law, international affairs, engineering, and computing.

Responsibilities

• Develop an active research program in Cybersecurity and Privacy and/or in emerging or interdisciplinary topics.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
• Complete service roles across the school, the college, and the institute.

Requirements

• Have (or expect to receive before the start of the appointment) a PhD or equivalent terminal degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Cognitive Science and Psychology, Law, Public Policy, Political Science and International Relations, Business, or a related field.
• In the cover letter, clearly identify the area or areas that best describe research contributions.
• Demonstrate the ability to teach and mentor a multifaceted student body.
• Demonstrate the ability to promote a welcoming educational/work environment.
• Demonstrate the ability to mentor and assist students interested in graduate education.
• Demonstrate the ability to design and teach curricula responsive to all students.
• Demonstrate the ability to adopt teaching strategies that support the learning and success of all students.
• Demonstrate the ability to engage students in experiential learning activities and pedagogy that support student success.
• Demonstrate the ability to engage in high-impact practices that support deep learning for student success.
• Apply expertise in teaching, scholarship, and/or service to advance student success.

• Joint appointments are possible.
• Current faculty hold joint appointments with other schools in the College of Computing, College of Engineering, Scheller College of Business, School of Public Policy, and Sam Nunn School of International Affairs.
