Job Description
Lead information security work as a Team Leader for a regular, recurring portion of duty time under OPM Direct Hire Authority.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a Team Leader on a regular and recurring basis for at least 25% of duty time.
- Perform the same kind and level of work as the team members while leading team tasks.
- Communicate to the team the assignment, project, and problem to be solved, including actionable events, milestones, program issues under review, and deadlines/time frames.
- Prepare reports and maintain records of work accomplishments and administrative information.
- Coordinate the preparation, presentation, and communication of work-related information to the supervisor.
- Identify, distribute, and balance workload and tasks based on established workflow, skill level, and/or occupational specialization.
- Adjust work allocation to meet priorities and ensure timely completion of team tasks.
- Ensure each employee has an integral role in developing the final team product.
- Arrange work among employees so assignments/projects are carried out with adequate work and timely completion.
- Monitor work status, make adjustments aligned to priorities, and report unusual problems plus expected completion times to the program manager.
Requirements
- Demonstrate Specialized Experience and IT Competencies for the federal 2210 series to meet Minimum Qualifications for a GS-13 Lead Cybersecurity Specialist role.
- Specialized Experience must be gained in a federal position at or above GS-12, or (if not in federal service or on another pay scale) at a responsibility/difficulty level equivalent to GS-12.
- Specialized Experience must primarily include:
- Ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through planning, analysis, and development of information systems security programs.
- Leading a project or team.
- Reviewers cannot assume duties not described in the resume.
- Attention to Detail: thorough and conscientious about detail.
- Customer Service: assess needs, provide information/assistance, resolve problems, and support quality products/services.

- Performance will be assessed during a 1-year probationary period that may apply to new appointees (for example, new to this series).
- Classified as a non-critical sensitive / high-risk position; may require SF-86 (Questionnaire for Sensitive Positions) for investigation.
