Job Description
This onsite Lead Cybersecurity Engineer position is based in San Francisco, CA and focuses on designing and maturing enterprise security programs across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate security into technology development and operations. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree and have at least 10 years of cybersecurity experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, deployment, and ongoing maturation of comprehensive cybersecurity programs across cloud, hybrid, and on‑premises environments.
- Develop and maintain secure architectures for cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform, ensuring robust security controls.
- Establish and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices organization-wide to promote a security‑first culture.
- Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, legal, and audit teams to integrate security into all phases of technology development and operations.
- Perform risk assessments, manage compliance audits, and formulate remediation strategies to address security gaps and ensure regulatory adherence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, cloud security, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), or security engineering.
- Deep expertise in cloud security architecture, security automation, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead security initiatives and collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of security controls, vulnerability management, and enterprise risk management practices.
