Job Description
This IT Specialist role focuses on INFOSEC and system administration within NAVAL COMPUTER AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS AREA MASTER STATION, PACIFIC (NCTAMS PAC). Based onsite at Ford Island, Hawaii, the position delivers information assurance, around‑the‑clock UC/VOSIP network support, UC equipment installation, VTC coordination, and related LAN/ISDN troubleshooting.

Responsibilities
- Act as an IT Specialist in the EXTERNAL SUPPORT (N9), Makalapa Tech Control (N94), and Makalapa VTC (N946) components of NCTAMS PAC.
- Maintain the information assurance posture using tools such as Host Based Security System (HBSS), Windows Service Update Service (WSUS), and antivirus software.
- Provide 24x7 operations and hardware/software configuration and maintenance support for the Unified Capabilities (UC) network and all VOSIP assets located within NCTAMS PAC space.
- Oversee the installation of Unified Capabilities equipment.
- Operate and troubleshoot UC equipment and LAN/ISDN based systems to sustain Video Teleconferencing (VTC) and VOSIP capabilities.
- Provide administrative assistance for scheduling, planning, and coordinating VTCs for all assigned equipment.
- Maintain physical security and assist in Communications Security (COMSEC) supervisory duties as required.
Requirements
- Must be a US citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- New Department of the Navy employees must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Appointments of retired DoD members within 180 days after retirement are subject to 5 U.S.C. 33326.
- Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position (work role code 451/411) with an Intermediate proficiency level; qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce and Navy policies must be obtained and maintained.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required; failure to attend the test or to pass may result in the withdrawal of a job offer, and random testing applies after hire.
