Job Description
IT Specialist (INFOSEC/PLCYPLN) supports WMA Mission Networks and Systems under Direct Hire Authority for the Department of War.
Responsibilities
- Directs and manages Information Assurance (IA) services and delivers specialized Information Security (IS)/IA support across the WMA enterprise.
- Acts as a technical INET expert and oversees certification and accreditation activities for INFOSEC compliance within the WMA Technology Support Office, Mission Systems.
- Serves as the ISSO for the Mission Systems broadcast network and associated systems.
- Plans, organizes, and leads projects with high policy and program impact, requiring advanced understanding of modern communication methods and supporting technologies.
- Evaluates contractor capabilities, develops cost estimates, drafts technical requests for proposals, assesses contract expertise, and advises the WMA Enterprise Architect on final selections.
- Collaborates with engineering staff and enforces DISA and NSA technical guides to evaluate information assurance requirements across the infrastructure.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-secret security clearance. Failure to obtain or retain a top-secret clearance may result in termination of employment.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test screening, and periodic testing thereafter.
- Five years of experience in the IT/IA field, with prior work as a systems administrator and a security technician
- This is a DoD Cyberspace Workforce (CWF) position; incumbent must be fully qualified for assigned work roles per DoDM 8140.03
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, including IT-related work demonstrating attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving

Education
- Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level

- Graduate education: One academic year of graduate study is considered by the school's definition; if unavailable, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) may satisfy the requirement
