IT Project Manager (APPSW/INFOSEC)
Job Description
Lead cross-functional delivery for application and information security projects within the Department of Justice in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
- Drive software development efforts across the full IT project lifecycle: initiation, requirements definition, planning, design, development, testing, implementation, deployment, and closeout.
- Coordinate requirements, priorities, dependencies, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations throughout the software development life cycle.
- Conduct technical analysis of software applications, system interfaces, configurations, and operational processes to identify vulnerabilities, system deficiencies, performance issues, and security risks impacting operations and federal information systems.
- Collaborate with IT teams including software developers, cybersecurity professionals, engineers, IT specialists, contractors, program personnel, and mission stakeholders.
Requirements
- Citizenship: Must be a United States Citizen or National.
- Screenings: Successfully pass a security/background investigation and a drug screening.
- Selective Service: Registration required.
- Security clearance: Ability to hold a Top Secret / SCI security clearance.
- Certification: Possess or be able to maintain required certification (see Announcement Questionnaire for details).
- USAHIRE: USA Hire assessment required; complete within 48 hours from the closing date of this announcement.
- Travel: Temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 25% of the time.
- Probation: May be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
- Mission critical: Designated as Mission Critical/Mission Essential (see Announcement Questionnaire).
- Financial disclosure: If selected, may be required to disclose financial information under DOJ and Federal ethics guidelines.
- GS-13 specialized experience: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-12 (Federal) or comparable non-Federal experience.
- Specialized experience includes:
- Providing IT support for integration of application software with existing hardware, software, databases, servers, and/or enterprise systems.
- Assisting with application development, validation, testing, and/or troubleshooting throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Deadline to meet qualifications: Must meet all qualification requirements by 10/20/2026.
Education
- No substitution of education for experience is permitted for GS-13 qualification; you must meet the requirement using experience alone.
