IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC)
Job Description
Serve as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) supporting DMEA cybersecurity reviews, risk governance, and incident triage.
Responsibilities
- Act as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for the Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA).
- Conduct reviews to identify gaps in DMEA’s cybersecurity architecture and develop solutions aligned to cybersecurity program goals.
- Ensure cybersecurity-enabled products or other compensating security control technologies reduce identified risks to an acceptable level.
- Develop plans and techniques to address new threats and improve the cybersecurity program and policies.
- Advise leaders and Authorizing Officials on changes that affect the organization’s cybersecurity posture.
- Participate in risk governance processes by providing security risks, mitigations, and inputs on other technical risks.
- Perform cyber defense incident triage, including:
- Determining scope, urgency, and potential impact
- Identifying the specific vulnerability
- Making recommendations to enable expeditious remediation
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen

- Must obtain and maintain Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance

- NH-02 qualification: one year of specialized experience equivalent to NH-01 (GS-4), or equivalent under other Federal/military/private sector pay systems
- NH-03 qualification: one year of specialized experience equivalent to NH-02 (GS-11), or equivalent under other Federal/military/private sector pay systems
- NH-02: Experience in a position covered by the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (or equivalent)
- NH-02: Contributing to and implementing cybersecurity policies
- NH-02: Key concepts in security management (e.g., Patch Management) and basic system administration, network, and operating system hardening techniques
- NH-02: Implementing cybersecurity related projects or initiatives
- NH-02: Monitoring external data to maintain currency of cyber defense threat condition and determine which security issues may impact the enterprise
- NH-03: Experience in a position covered by the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (or equivalent)
- NH-03: Implementing, developing, contributing to, or authoring cybersecurity policies
- NH-03: Overseeing or conducting key concepts in security management (e.g., Patch Management) and basic system administration, network, and operating system hardening techniques
- NH-03: Implementing or managing cybersecurity related projects or initiatives
- NH-03: Monitoring external data to maintain currency of cyber defense threat condition and determine which security issues may impact the enterprise
- Education: must be from a college or university accredited by an organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education
- NH-02 education substitution: 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree
- NH-03 education substitution: none
- If using education to meet basic qualifications, you must submit a transcript as supplemental documentation
- Failure to provide transcripts will result in being rated ineligible
