IT Audit, Cybersecurity & Risk Advisory Senior Consultant

As a Senior Consultant in Baker Tilly’s Risk Advisory practice, you will support clients with IT audit work and cybersecurity risk advisory, including SOC-related engagements. The role emphasizes assessing technology risk, evaluating controls, and providing actionable recommendations to help organizations manage security and operational objectives.

Responsibilities

• Partner with client executives and management teams to understand business operations and assist in identifying and managing financial and operational risks within business systems to ensure technology risks are addressed.
• Build a strong understanding of client organizations and industries through direct client interaction while contributing across multiple components of an engagement.
• Apply independent and strategic thinking to evaluate clients’ business systems and risks, and propose improvements to business and processes based on client operations, process understanding, and business objectives.
• Provide strategic business assurance by assisting with the implementation of new processes and controls that address key risks.
• Assess, manage, and optimize information technology risk across areas including cybersecurity, IT strategy and governance, IT regulatory and compliance requirements, and business continuity.
• Review client processes and controls against industry frameworks, identify gaps in design and execution, and communicate findings, issues, and recommendations to clients.
• Contribute to audit program development and support the execution of internal audits and IT control assessments for: IT strategy and governance; IT operations, business continuity and disaster recovery; cybersecurity; third-party risk; ITGC and application controls; SOC reporting; and regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Draft executive summaries and final reports for client delivery, and document and review engagement work papers in alignment with industry-accepted internal audit methodologies.
• Act as a trusted business advisor by building client relationships and communicating clearly to deliver effective client service.
• Deliver professional presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
• Continue expanding knowledge across a variety of technology environments, platforms, applications, and tools or utilities.
• Grow skills through external and internal education, training, and cross-training aligned to organizational goals and ongoing career development.
• Use entrepreneurial initiative to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with clients.
• Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy, helping associates meet professional goals.

Requirements

• 4 year degree
• Three (3) years of experience
• Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail
• Exceptional verbal and written communication, collaboration, and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in management/computer information systems, computer science, accounting information systems, computer engineering, industrial engineering, or related program
• CISA, CISSP, CISM, CIA, or CPA certifications preferred
• 3+ year(s) experience with IT audit or cybersecurity
• Experience as a client serving professional for a consulting firm desired
• Experience with SOC engagements preferred
• Experience with Cloud audit experience and certifications preferred
