Infrastructure Security Analyst

In this entry-level Infrastructure Security Analyst position, you will help protect KFI Engineers PC IT infrastructure by monitoring security activity, supporting incident response, and assisting with security controls that secure network and system assets. The role is onsite in Fargo, ND and includes collaboration across IT and security teams to support policy adherence and industry best practices.

Role Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and review logs across infrastructure components to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Assist with investigations and response to security incidents, including documentation and escalation as needed.
• Support deployment and maintenance of security tooling, including firewalls, intrusion detection or prevention systems, and endpoint protection.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and help with remediation efforts to reduce infrastructure risk.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to implement and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Participate in regular security audits and compliance activities to support adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Keep current on emerging security threats, technologies, and best practices.
• Under direction of a leader, assist with translating security policies into basic technical controls, including system configurations and management of security tool console settings.
• Provide input on execution paths to support effective implementation of policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience providing technical support to end users.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and common security principles.
• Working knowledge of security monitoring tools and incident response processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills for documenting findings and collaborating with team members.
• Ability and willingness to work occasional after-hours for incident response or maintenance windows.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate.
• Knowledge of computer technology and specific application areas, including MS Office.
• Occasional travel as needed for projects and/or training.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA Security, or equivalent.
• Experience interpreting security data and identifying vulnerabilities in complex infrastructure environments.
• Experience with cloud security concepts and infrastructure (AWS and Azure).
• Knowledge of scripting or programming languages including Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Understanding of regulatory frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or GDPR.
• Prior internship or hands-on experience in a security operations center (SOC) or a similar environment.

Working Conditions

• May require extended periods sitting at a desk or computer workstation.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds infrequently.
• Occasional after-hours availability for incident response or maintenance windows.

Compensation and Schedule Details

$34.60 - $43.30 per hour. Final compensation is based on individual qualifications, experience, work location, and education. This position is eligible for an annual bonus.
