Job Description

SAIC is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer to support the U.S. Space Force, Space Systems Command. In this hybrid role based in Colorado Springs, CO, you will support operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars, while helping plan, develop, and deliver PARCS and UEWR assessments. The position focuses on building secure architectures, assessing RMF artifacts, and implementing remediation aligned to RMF controls and enclave/local policy.

Compensation: $120,001 - $160,000 per year. Travel: 10%. Clearance: Active Secret (minimum). The role supports hybrid work (ORA_HYBRID).

What you’ll do

  • Design security architectures, integrate new architectural features into existing infrastructure, and produce cybersecurity architectural artifacts.
  • Provide engineering recommendations to resolve integration and testing issues.
  • Develop cyber requirements aligned to DoD 8570/8140 standards.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and compliance audits, triaging and prioritizing findings for effective remediation planning.
  • Design and implement remediation actions, including configuration changes, system hardening, and patching to align systems with RMF controls and enclave policy.
  • Review RMF artifacts and identify deviations from required RMF control expectations.
  • Establish program control processes supporting certification testing, compliance documentation, investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, inspections, and periodic audits to support system assessment and authorization.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years of related experience.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • CompTIA Security+ or an equivalent IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification.
  • ACAS experience (Nessus / Tenable Security Center).
  • Experience using Nessus / Tenable Security Center, STIG Viewer, and EvaluateSTIG for RMF assessments and compliance audits.

Preferred experience

  • RHEL system administration and hardening in an on-premises environment.
  • Scripting to support remediation and configuration tasks, including Bash and Python.
  • Experience supporting assessment and authorization (A&A) of DoD systems.
  • Experience with enclave and network security within classified environments.
