Job Description

Govcio LLC seeks an Information System Security Engineer to support the 2ROPS accreditation and ongoing cybersecurity sustainment for small classified mobile systems. This onsite role is based at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, with a hybrid arrangement and some remote work available with 2ROPS leadership approval. The position carries a salary range of USD 120,000 to 140,000 per year and requires a Secret clearance along with meaningful security engineering experience.

Overview

The Information System Security Engineer will operate at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, to aid the 2ROPS accreditation lifecycle and provide continuous cybersecurity sustainment for small classified mobile systems. The role is onsite with hybrid and some remote work options, governed by leadership approval. Key aspects include aligning security design with DoD and IC policy, maintaining current certification statuses, and supporting secure system operations.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and implements information assurance and security engineering systems addressing business continuity, operations security, cryptography, forensics, regulatory compliance, insider threat detection and mitigation, as well as physical security analysis and security management.
  • Assesses and mitigates security threats and risks throughout the program life cycle.
  • Validates system security requirements definitions and performs analysis thereof.
  • Establishes system security designs and implements these designs across hardware, software, data, and procedures.
  • Verifies security requirements and leads system certification and accreditation planning and testing, including liaison activities.
  • Supports secure systems operations and ongoing maintenance.
  • Collaborates with the client in the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into technical designs.
  • Configures and validates secure systems, tests security products, and conducts network scanning and vulnerability analysis to detect weaknesses.
  • Ensures appropriate security features and safeguards are implemented on all information systems in line with DoD/IC policy, directives, and industry best practices.
  • Performs defense device system installation, configuration maintenance, account and signature maintenance, patch management, and troubleshooting for all deployed systems.
  • Provides security certification test and evaluation of assets, vulnerability management and response, security assessments, customer support, and guidance on security issues.

Requirements

  • High School with 9+ years (or commensurate experience)
  • Clearance Required: Secret
  • 5 years of experience as security engineer for hardware and software
  • Linux (Red Hat/CentOS) system administration experience
  • Experience configuring Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and performing scans
  • Security+ Certification (or equivalent) required
