Information Security Engineer, Advanced

This senior information security engineer role focuses on secure development, vulnerability management, CI/CD integration, and cross-functional security leadership within Zebra's Product & Solution Security team in Lincolnshire, IL (hybrid).

Responsibilities

• Implements security controls and countermeasures to detect and block attacks targeting email, data, e-commerce platforms, and complex web systems.
• Plans and conducts security testing to identify weaknesses and designs mitigations.
• Oversees audits of hardware, software, and network security, including firewall and encryption protocol reviews.
• Maintains security policies governing physical and virtual access to systems.
• Delivers analyses to management on potential business impact from information theft, destruction, alteration, or denial of access.
• Collaborates with internal and external clients, Professional Services, and outsourcing functions to secure engagements.
• Leads secure software development by partnering with development teams to implement secure practices across diverse tech stacks.
• Advocates shift-left security by embedding secure coding early in the software development lifecycle and promotes reusable baselines.
• Oversees vulnerability and secrets management, focusing on remediation and reducing false positives and ignored issues.
• Leads efforts to reduce secrets in code repositories using tooling and automation.
• Represents Zebra on Change Advisory Boards for key security vendors, maximizing tool value through proper integration and configuration.
• Delivers updates on security tool capabilities to internal teams and ensures effective integration into CI/CD.
• Designs and enhances CI/CD pipelines with security controls and ensures security tools are integrated into builds and releases.
• Contributes to asset tagging strategies and collaborates with Policy & Governance to update product security policies.
• Communicates complex security concepts clearly to developers, leadership, and stakeholders, acting as an internal consultant and mentor on application security.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• 8+ years of experience
• Cyber security experience
• Vulnerability management experience
• Tooling management (implementation and troubleshooting) experience
• Software development experience (coding) using Python, C++, C#
• Application security
• Product security

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: USD 122,800 - 184,200 per year.

Annual incentive: Target annual cash incentive equal to 12% of base pay, in accordance with the applicable incentive plan.
