Information Security Engineer

In this onsite role in Jacksonville, FL, the Information Security Engineer helps build and refine practical security solutions that strengthen the organization’s security posture.

This position supports critical security systems and services, evaluates security across the enterprise environment, and turns testing and analysis into actionable improvement recommendations. You will also help advance threat detection and incident readiness through vulnerability assessment, security configuration evaluation, and root cause analysis.

What you’ll do

• Provide operations and engineering support for critical security systems and services, including servers, endpoint security, computer forensics, vulnerability or penetration assessment, and security event management.
• Assist with vulnerability analysis and exploitation of applications, operating systems, and networks.
• Use testing and evaluation procedures to identify intrusion or incident path or method.
• Design, develop, and implement countermeasures, systems integration, and tools for cyber and information operations.
• Learn how to resolve malware and intrusion issues within the system as they occur.
• Follow industry security updates, technologies, and practices on an ongoing basis to improve overall security management.
• Serve as an internal information security consultant on standards, complex issues, and best practices for the organization.
• Contribute to testing and analysis of complex software systems to determine both functionality and intent.
• Maintain operational and configuration documentation, including creating and maintaining diagrams.
• Collaborate with the Cybersecurity Risk and Security Operation teams to enhance the enterprise security posture.

What you bring

• 2 years of experience supporting cybersecurity initiatives.
• Knowledge and understanding of threat detection.
• 3 or more years of experience in cybersecurity for a mid-large sized organization.
• Email authentication expertise in SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
• Previous experience with Secure Email Gateway administration.
• BEC and phishing threat expertise.
• Email incident response and forensics experience.
• Industry certifications such as Sec+, CISSP, or similar.
• University (Degree) preferred.
• Physical requirements: Sedentary Work.

Compensation and benefits

Compensation: $86,700 - $117,300 per year. Career level: 6IC.
