Information Security Analyst

Brandes Associates Inc. (BAI) is seeking an Information Security Analyst with 3+ years of experience to support cybersecurity implementation and continuous improvement for assigned information systems and environments at Naval Base Ventura Point Mugu in Point Mugu, CA.

Role Summary

This position supports the execution of security protocols, ongoing compliance monitoring, and security assessments for information systems. The analyst will also contribute to accreditation and compliance documentation, assist with security tool and control implementation, and provide technical guidance to help strengthen protections across critical electronic infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM), Cybersecurity Lead, system owners, and technical teams to protect computer networks, information systems, digital files, and critical electronic infrastructure
• Implement and monitor security controls, protocols, and procedures
• Perform vulnerability assessments, audits, and risk reviews, including rapid response reporting and data calls
• Monitor for and respond to security incidents, breaches, and malware in coordination with the ISSM and/or Cybersecurity Lead
• Prepare and maintain accreditation and compliance documentation
• Support the implementation and use of security tools
• Provide security training and recommend improvements to security processes and controls
• Integrate security into continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines to minimize vulnerabilities in software code
• Ensure the entire DevOps team, including developers and operations teams, shares responsibility for following security best practices
• Enable automated security checks at each stage of software delivery by integrating security controls, tools, and processes into the DevOps workflow
• Assist with the continuous integration, continuous delivery/deployment, continuous feedback, and continuous operations cycle

Required Qualifications

• IAT/IAM II per DoD Manual 8140; certifications: Security+, CISSP, or NSA equivalent
• Experience working with Risk Management Framework processes
• Strong DEVSECOPS background (Linux proficiency is a plus)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for verbal, non-verbal, written, and listening-based interactions with staff, customers, and at organizational levels
• Ability to work independently and act as a self-starter
• Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite, including MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

Education

• Degree: BS or BA in Computer Information Systems or a relevant technical discipline
• Allowable substitution: An additional 6 years of relevant work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree, or 4 additional years of work experience with a relevant Associate’s Degree

Clearance Requirements

• Condition of Employment: Must have a T5 background investigation, active Top Secret Security Clearance, and be able to maintain a DoD Top Secret Security Clearance
• Selected applicants will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

Citizenship

• Applicant must have US citizenship at the time of application

Compensation

• Salary range: USD 110,000 to 140,000 per year
• Salary will be based on current qualifications, directly related experience, geographic location, and possible contractual requirements that could fall outside the stated range
