Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking an Information Assurance Security Engineer to support a TS/SCI-cleared intelligence customer in Springfield, Virginia. The role focuses on policy development, RMF coordination, incident response, and security operations, with a requirement for IAM II certification to start and a strong background in AWS/cloud and security tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical services on all aspects of Information Security.
  • Draft information security policy and review Memoranda of Agreement.
  • Coordinate and manage all facets of Certification and Accreditation.
  • Advise on system design/architecture and define, design, and evaluate information security systems.
  • Oversee multi-agency information sharing and integration security.
  • Maintain affiliations with high-level personnel across agencies and organizations involved in Information Security.
  • Lead incident response activities and grant system access approvals.
  • Review audit logs and participate in the Configuration Control Board.
  • Provide daily consultations on a wide range of security issues.
  • Document and investigate security incidents and assist with corrective measures.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI clearance
  • IAM II certification to start (8570.1M)
  • Understanding of RMF processes and how security requirements are met
  • Knowledge of ICD 503
  • Cloud infrastructure/AWS-based solutions
  • CISSP or equivalent (CAP, GSLC, CISM)
  • System administration and network engineering experience
  • 10-15 years of related experience in data security administration
  • Experience with security tools such as ACAS, HBSS, Carbon Black, Tanium, RedSeal, and EMET
  • Experience installing, hardening, deploying, documenting, and troubleshooting network perimeter security technologies
  • Unix and/or RHEL OS scripting; PowerShell scripting
  • Basic understanding of Windows Enterprise AD architecture and VMware virtualization
  • Proficiency in network routing and VLAN technology

Job Description

Position Summary

General Dynamics Information Systems (GDIT) seeks a Security Engineer to provide expert technical services across all aspects of Information Security. Responsibilities include drafting security policy, reviewing Memoranda of Agreement, coordinating Certification and Accreditation, advising on system design/architecture, and managing cross-agency information sharing. The role also encompasses incident response, access approvals, audit log reviews, and participation in the Configuration Control Board, with daily consulting on security matters and assistance in corrective measures.

Unique / Additional Requirements

  • Knowledge of ICD 503 and familiarity with Cloud Infrastructure/AWS-based solutions
  • IAM II certification to start per DOD 8570.1M
  • Understanding of the customer RMF process and how to meet security requirements

Desired Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • CISSP or equivalent (CAP, GSLC, CISM)
  • System administration experience
  • Network engineering experience

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.

Qualifications

10-15 years of related experience in data security administration.

Salary and Benefits Information

Salary range is $116,150 to $164,382 per year. View information about benefits and the total rewards program.
