Job Description

Energy Ogre is seeking a Full Stack Security Engineer to join its Houston-based team. This role centers on security-by-design within a C#/.NET stack and AWS cloud infrastructure, blending software development with cloud security to safeguard applications and data. The position is onsite in Houston, TX and reports to the VP of Software Development.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in the full software lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment.
  • Diagnose user issues, determine root causes, and engineer scalable fixes.
  • Maintain and refactor existing codebases while adopting new technologies and architectures.
  • Define and implement security strategies for AWS, including blueprints and IAM governance.
  • Incorporate security checks into CI/CD pipelines and automate security tasks using Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform.
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure for anomalies, perform vulnerability scans, and develop incident response playbooks for cloud threats.
  • Tune SQL Server stored procedures and enforce encryption for data at rest and in transit.
  • Implement and manage security controls to protect infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and encryption.
  • Apply end-to-end encryption strategies for data at rest and in transit.
  • Conduct functional and unit testing prior to UAT to ensure high-performance standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 3+ years of software development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem (ASP.NET MVC 5, .NET Core).
  • 3+ years of experience with C#, .NET Core, SQL Server, and React Native.
  • Background in cloud security engineering, preferably with AWS, and certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or AWS Security Specialty.
  • Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting and familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001).
