FT Admin - Information Security Analyst
Job Description
The Information Security Analyst (FT Admin) at Lansing Community College partners with the Information Security Team to administer and monitor the College’s information security infrastructure. This onsite role focuses on investigating and responding to security events, supporting business continuity and disaster recovery planning, and helping improve risk management across college systems.
Working in Lansing, MI, the role supports day-to-day security operations for college technology and serves as a technical bridge between Information Security and ITS and other college personnel. The annual salary range is $63,195 to $70,066.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Information Security Team to administer and monitor the College’s information security infrastructure, including assistance with planning for business continuity and disaster recovery.
- Monitor, investigate, and respond to information security events involving all college technology devices, including potential internal and external compromises and violations of college policy.
- Assist with evaluating risks to the College originating from IT projects.
- Lead projects aimed at improving the security architecture of college systems.
- Develop security awareness messages and communicate them to the college community.
- Serve as a technical liaison to ITS (Information Technology Services) and other college personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Significant information security or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications including, but not limited to: CISSP, CISM, GIAC (especially GSEC), and CISA.
- Experience administering Information Security Management Systems and Incident Response.
Onsite Work Expectations and Additional Policies
- Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment.
- Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College may change based on the needs of the LCC community.
- LCC policy requires all employees to be residents of the State of Michigan and to perform work (with limited exceptions) within Michigan.
- Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.
