Job Description

Join the Federal Bureau of Investigation as an FBI Special Agent focused on cybersecurity and IT investigations in support of public safety. This onsite role in Charlotte, NC centers on using information security knowledge and SIEM tools experience to investigate potential federal law violations tied to cyber threats.

The work draws on networking fundamentals, CompTIA certifications, and ethical hacking expertise to protect against cyberattacks, terrorism, fraud, and evolving threat patterns. Agents also build strong partnerships across law enforcement to coordinate investigative efforts.

What you will do

  • Plan and conduct investigations of potential violations of federal laws, cybersecurity, and public safety.
  • Use judgment, resourcefulness, and versatility to meet changing investigative demands.
  • Develop and maintain effective liaison relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law enforcement agencies.
  • Maintain the physical fitness required to perform law enforcement duties.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Clearance.
  • Must be willing to travel as required.
  • Must meet the FBI’s Employment Eligibility requirements.
  • Must hold a master's degree or higher from a U.S. accredited college or university.

Salary and work details

  • Job type: Full-time
  • Work location: On the road (onsite in Charlotte, NC)
  • Pay range: $103,236.00 - $133,200.00 per year
  • Compensation note: Salary is commensurate with base, locality, and availability pay.
