Job Description

Protect national security through real-world cybersecurity investigations. As a Special Agent with information security and SIEM tools experience, you will apply technical expertise to help safeguard critical systems and public safety against cyberattacks and other evolving threats. This FBI position is exempted from the federal civilian hiring freeze and offers a supportive work environment, professional growth, and a robust benefits package.

Based in New Orleans, LA (onsite), this full-time role puts your skills in cyber defense, encryption, threat detection, and vulnerability analysis to work in high-stakes cases. Your background can be a direct asset to investigations involving potential violations of federal law, including matters impacting public safety.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct investigations into potential violations of federal laws, cybersecurity, and public safety.
  • Use judgment, resourcefulness, and versatility to meet investigative demands.
  • Develop and maintain liaison relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law enforcement agencies.
  • Maintain physical fitness needed to perform law enforcement duties.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Clearance.
  • Must be willing to travel as required.
  • Must meet the FBI’s Employment Eligibility requirements.
  • Must hold a master’s degree or higher from a U.S. accredited college or university.

  • Salary: $103,236 - $133,200 per year
  • Pay is commensurate with base, locality, and availability pay.
