Job Description

The FBI seeks a Special Agent with information security and cybersecurity expertise to support national security through investigations, threat detection, and safeguarding critical systems. This onsite role is based in New Orleans, LA and requires the ability to operate within federal law enforcement frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct investigations of potential violations of federal laws, cybersecurity, and public safety.
  • Exercise judgment, resourcefulness, and versatility in meeting investigative demands.
  • Create and maintain effective liaison relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law enforcement agencies.
  • Maintain a level of physical fitness to ensure the readiness required to perform law enforcement duties.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information SCI) Clearance.
  • Must be willing to travel as required.
  • Must meet the FBI’s Employment Eligibility requirements.
  • Must have a master’s degree or higher from a U.S. accredited college or university.

As an FBI special agent with information security and SIEM tools experience, you will directly impact national security. Your background in networking, CompTIA certifications, or ethical hacking can shape the Bureau’s approach to safeguarding the nation. Within the FBI, you will apply cybersecurity expertise to defend against cyber threats and support investigations across national security, fraud, and evolving risks.

Compensation

Salary range: $103,236.00 - $133,200.00 per year. Salary is commensurate with base, locality, and availability pay.
