Job Description

This onsite contract-to-hire role in North Tampa, Florida focuses on protecting sensitive data across endpoints, networks, cloud services, and enterprise platforms while designing, implementing, and operating data protection controls. It offers a salary of USD 110,000 to 120,000 per year and requires a Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Protects sensitive data across endpoints, networks, cloud services, and enterprise platforms by designing, implementing, and operating data protection controls.
  • Collaborates with security, infrastructure, application, legal, privacy, and business teams to minimize data loss risk.
  • Improves governance across data protection practices.
  • Supports regulatory compliance initiatives.
  • Strengthens the organization's overall security posture.
  • Bluilds and scales security engineering capabilities across cloud infrastructure.
  • Secures identity systems and data services as part of the security program.
  • Addresses security for Kubernetes and container platforms.
  • Secures CI/CD pipelines and related processes.
  • Manages secrets across platforms to prevent exposure and misuse.
  • Enhances platform observability to improve security monitoring and response capabilities.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles (confidentiality, integrity, availability, least privilege, defense in depth), data protection, networking, operating systems, cloud fundamentals, and common threat vectors impacting enterprise IT environments.
  • Familiarity with enterprise environments, ticketing systems, and documentation practices.
  • Proficiency with SIEM, DLP, or endpoint monitoring tools, with the ability to navigate dashboards and review complex security alerts.
  • Ability to interpret logs from systems such as Active Directory, VPN, endpoints, and cloud platforms to identify anomalous activity.
  • Independently investigates complex incidents, including building timelines, gathering evidence, and documenting findings.
  • Translates complex technical findings into clear, actionable insights for leadership, including executive briefings, risk summaries, and program recommendations.
  • Manages multiple alerts or tasks concurrently, prioritizing based on risk and meeting deadlines in a fast paced environment.
