Salary: USD 69,400 - 158,000 per year
Responsibilities
- Collaborate across ARPA-H to support digital forensics and investigate cybersecurity incidents
- Evaluate physical and virtual assets to ensure security and integrity, covering Windows, MacOS, and iOS environments
- Perform investigations using Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, and standard digital forensics tools
- Assess risk posture of technical projects within Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Identify and evaluate risks associated with ongoing technical programs and propose mitigations
- Build strong cross‑functional relationships and clearly communicate complex cybersecurity concepts to diverse audiences
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing evidence collection, preservation, and chain of custody, and conducting digital forensic investigations
- 5+ years of experience developing standard operating procedures and playbooks for digital forensic investigations
- Experience performing forensic imaging and analysis of physical and virtual devices
- Experience coordinating with legal, privacy, and incident response teams during investigations
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Architecture, Data Science, or Digital Forensics

The opportunity

In this role you will advise clients on comprehensive digital forensics strategies, supporting incident response and risk mitigation. As part of the Booz Allen team, you will serve as a strategic technical advisor to ARPA-H, helping conceptualize, create, and execute advanced government funded research and development programs that drive health outcomes. You will partner with world‑class scientists and engineers to develop high‑impact health solutions and apply your expertise to strategic assessments of digital forensics approaches and risk management.
Nice to have
- 7+ years of experience managing evidence collection, preservation, and chain of custody, and conducting digital forensic investigations
- 7+ years of experience developing standard operating procedures and playbooks for digital forensic investigations
- Experience with U.S. government or R&D health organizations
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
- Ability to manage multiple short- and long-term projects effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Master's degree in a relevant field
Work model
- Remote: If listed as remote, occasional in-person work at Booz Allen or a customer facility may be required
- Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as needed
- Onsite: Primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with direct collaboration as required
