DevOps / Security Engineer — Cloud Platform & IoT Systems

GL Intelligence, Inc. offers a hybrid role in Chantilly, VA for a DevOps / Security Engineer focused on GoodCloud. You will help ensure reliability, scalability, and operational security for a multi-region cloud platform with per-cell Kubernetes deployments serving 10 million plus devices. The position provides a competitive salary range of USD 120,000 to 170,000 per year and a benefits package that includes 401(k), health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and opportunities to contribute to data residency and security across global teams.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability and security operations across GoodCloud's multi-region deployments, including per-cell Kubernetes clusters deployed via a shared Helm umbrella chart
• Define and track SLOs and error budgets; build monitoring, alerting, and incident-response systems across cells
• Conduct security assessments and support penetration testing engagements
• Manage IAM, access control, and secrets management across regional cells
• Support data-residency controls and cross-jurisdiction compliance requirements, keeping device data, telemetry, and encryption keys within home regions
• Design and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines across distributed engineering teams in the U.S. and internationally
• Implement automated security testing (SAST, DAST, dependency and container scanning) in the pipeline
• Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform and Helm across the cell-based Kubernetes architecture
• Build monitoring, logging, and alerting systems spanning all regions (metrics, traces, structured logs)
• Support firmware build pipelines for embedded systems, including migrating from Jenkins to GitLab CI
• Support firmware security and release-compliance workflows aligned with regulatory requirements
• Manage vulnerability disclosure intake and patch/release management
• Coordinate with global engineering teams on security updates and CVE remediation
• Support documentation for regulatory and equipment-authorization submissions as needed
• Maintain operational documentation and audit trails for internal and external compliance reviews
• Track and report reliability and security metrics (SLO attainment, incident logs, risk closure status) through monthly ops reporting
• Support cross-team audit and traceability requirements for U.S. and international offices

Requirements

• 5+ years of combined experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering with hands-on ownership of production cloud infrastructure
