Job Description

Leidos is recruiting for a Cybersecurity Specialist II to support NASA customers from Huntsville, Alabama. The role focuses on implementing firewall rules, troubleshooting, and managing firewall hardware and software deployments, upgrades, and validation, contributing to secure and reliable mission-critical networks. This position offers hands-on engagement with enterprise-grade security and network infrastructure in a government-facing environment.

Compensation

Salary: USD 73,450 - 132,775 per year.

Location

Huntsville, Alabama (onsite).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, install, modify, test, and service network equipment as required.
  • Develop and deliver engineering support across firewall, LAN, WAN, and DDI services.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Fortinet and Cisco devices, and sustain their operation.
  • Manage trouble tickets and resolve network issues.
  • Implement and replace network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless LAN controllers, and access points.
  • Serve as the primary network analyst for assigned areas.
  • Utilize a range of network monitoring tools.
  • Work independently to meet daily objectives with a meaningful impact on operations or project outcomes.
  • Oversee entire projects or processes within a technical domain.
  • Mentor and review the work of junior technical staff when required.
  • Develop technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, deep analyses, and understanding of impact on systems and stakeholders.
  • Design solutions to complex technical problems that are not clearly defined and require deep expertise.
  • Communicate with internal teams and client project stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Requires Bachelor's degree and 4 – 6 years of prior relevant experience or Master's with less than 3 years of prior relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and keep a minimum of a Public Trust clearance.
  • Experience supporting large enterprise networks focusing on Cybersecurity, Routing, Switching, DNS and DHCP.
  • Hands-on working experience with large enterprise Fortinet firewall applications.
  • Cisco CCNA level certification or working knowledge and hands on experience with Cisco devices.
  • Vital QIP and Splunk experience.
