Cybersecurity Specialist IAT II Intermediate

Five Stones Research Corporation (5SRC) is seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist IAT II Intermediate to support enclave security activities in Dahlgren, VA on-site. This full-time role centers on accreditation and authorization support, security control testing, and ongoing Plan of Action and Milestone (POA&M) management in eMASS, with clear expectations around documentation, evidence gathering, and troubleshooting of enclave cybersecurity issues.

The position requires an Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance with eligibility for Top Secret, along with IAT II certification prior to accepting the role. Candidates must also meet tool and certification timelines tied to required cybersecurity technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply cybersecurity policy, tools, and procedures to mitigate system vulnerabilities.
• Gather, develop, and update artifacts that support system Accreditation and Authorization (A&A) processes.
• Prepare artifacts and evidence used to build an authorization package.
• Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of security controls through testing and supporting documentation.
• Manage Plan of Action and Milestone (POA&M) items in eMASS.
• Submit eMASS workflows related to authorization and security processes.
• Use knowledge of standard cybersecurity concepts, practices, and procedures to complete enclave security goals.
• Support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software cybersecurity problems within the enclave environment.
• Work with extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish enclave security objectives.
• Operate under general supervision, typically reporting to the network manager / government cyber manager.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in STEM / cyber-related field (or equivalent) from an accredited institution, plus at least 5 years of cyber technical experience.
• Alternative: Bachelor’s degree outside STEM/cyber with 7 years of DoD cyber technical experience and demonstrated knowledge in missile defense related or other complex, large DoD programs/projects.
• Alternative: Associate degree in STEM/cyber with 10 years of DoD cyber experience and demonstrated knowledge in cyber and missile defense related or other complex, large DoD programs/projects.
• IAT II certification prior to accepting the position.
• Technical certification or 2 years’ experience with McAfee Endpoint Security, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Splunk, and/or experience implementing network/enclave/system security toolsets, including reviewing technical assessment reports and prioritizing technical corrective actions.
• Achieve certification in required tools within 6 months of position acceptance.
• Security clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance with eligibility for Top Secret.
• Citizenship: U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in technical review, management, or assessment of software, cloud, firewalls, network defense, ports, protocols, and services management, and/or DevSecOps.

Salary Range: $117,000 - $142,000 per year.
