Cybersecurity Specialist

The Cybersecurity Specialist at PACS plays a key role in safeguarding information systems, networks, and data against evolving cyber threats. This onsite position in Salt Lake City, UT focuses on monitoring security events, investigating incidents, and strengthening organizational security controls in partnership with IT and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor networks, systems, and security tools for suspicious activity and potential threats.
• Investigate security incidents, conduct root-cause analysis, and propose corrective actions.
• Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, endpoint protection, identity and access management, and vulnerability management tools.
• Perform regular vulnerability scans, execute risk assessments, and coordinate penetration testing activities.
• Support security awareness training and reinforce security best practices across the organization.
• Assist with the development and ongoing maintenance of security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Manage incident response work, including documentation and communication with relevant stakeholders.
• Partner with IT teams to support secure system configurations and patch management.
• Evaluate new security technologies and contribute to continuous improvement of the security program.
• Support compliance activities tied to applicable frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, or HIPAA, depending on industry needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2–5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security operations, or a related technical role.
• Strong understanding of network security, operating systems, cloud security, and threat detection.
• Experience using SIEM tools, endpoint protection platforms, and vulnerability management solutions.
• Familiarity with scripting or automation such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash is a plus.
• Relevant certifications preferred including Security+, CySA+, CEH, GSEC, SSCP, or similar.
