Job Description
Revel IT is seeking a Cybersecurity Project Manager for a contract-to-hire engagement in Columbus, Ohio (hybrid). The role supports cross-functional cybersecurity teams by coordinating project planning, stakeholder communication, and risk mitigation while applying core cybersecurity principles knowledge. The position uses Agile, Waterfall, and iterative delivery approaches to ensure secure solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Build collaboration across cybersecurity teams, aligning project goals with security requirements and delivering secure solutions on schedule and within budget.
- Own full project lifecycles using Agile, Waterfall, or iterative methods, including creation and management of project artifacts such as Project Charters, Solution Design Documents (SDDs), and technical documentation.
- Maintain Agile delivery readiness through artifacts such as Agile readiness checklists, UAT approvals, and deployment plans.
- Support change management deliverables, including stakeholder assessments and adoption strategies.
- Apply knowledge of project management processes to support statement of work development and vendor progress management.
- Demonstrate a moderate level of project management expertise across risk, issue, decision, and dependency management; include status reporting and capacity management, along with demand, budgeting, forecasting, and variance explanations.
- Manage financial elements of delivery, including capital versus O&M spend forecasting, budgeting, and accruals.
- Coordinate with multiple functions, departments, and organizational levels, and model teamwork in day-to-day execution.
- Contribute to effective project presentations and communicate technical concepts to non-technical clients.
- Use project management and SDLC methodologies and tools, including ServiceNow, PowerBI, and Jira, with basic knowledge of Waterfall, iterative, and Agile approaches.
- (Preferred, not required) Contribute additional tooling and governance support if familiar with Archer, including policy and standard management, and support compliance and risk assessments plus issue and exception tracking.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with project management and leadership across IT and business functions.
- Experience managing large complex projects that include a combination of internal/external and labor/non-labor cost components.
- Extensive knowledge and expertise in project management best practices, including waterfall, agile, SDLC methodologies, and relevant tools.
- Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to coach, develop, and lead a team, and the ability to work with diverse project teams across IT and business.
- Proven ability to engage and develop relationships with executive sponsors and key stakeholders with clarity and precision.
- Experience with project cost management and resource capacity planning.
- Strong business process analysis and mapping skills.
- Experience implementing change management approaches that support project outcomes.
- Experience with indirect management, including supporting development, training, and assignment of work/projects to team members.
- Familiarity with the energy industry is a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience demonstrating technical project management and project leadership.
- Completion of 4 hours of PMM training prior to assuming the role.
- 20 hours of ongoing professional training per year.
- Project management certification (PMP).
- Agile certification such as PSM (Professional Scrum Master) and Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) is a plus.
- ITIL v3 or v4 is a plus.
