Job Description

The Cybersecurity Platform Engineer will lead the development, management, and security of a container platform while advancing cloud-native DevOps and DevSecOps capabilities for Booz Allen Hamilton clients.

Responsibilities

  • As a DevOps engineer, you will design, manage, and secure a container platform that aligns with client needs and leverages cloud capabilities.
  • You will develop container management software to address complex customer challenges.
  • In a senior platform DevOps role, apply your technical expertise to drive mission-focused outcomes.
  • Collaborate to leverage the latest cloud technologies, enhancing the client environment and ensuring seamless orchestration with current container software.
  • Utilize your DevOps platform experience to inform strategy and design while upholding standards across the containerization lifecycle.
  • Recommend resources that help the client manage and securely adopt containers.
  • Continue to strengthen DevOps capabilities while supporting the development of critical cloud platforms.
  • Contribute to cloud platform initiatives that support secure and effective outcomes for clients.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience developing tools and processes to advance DevOps or DevSecOps maturity, including automating builds, regression testing, monitoring, and releasing across environments.
  • At least 4 years troubleshooting and triaging CI/CD pipeline failures or performance issues.
  • 2+ years operating Kubernetes in production, including environments such as ECK and AWS GovCloud.
  • 2+ years of experience with cybersecurity fundamentals in infrastructure, platform, or security operations contexts, including SIEM, vulnerability management, or incident response.
  • Experience with DoD cloud and cybersecurity environments.
  • Experience developing enterprise cloud-native solutions and managing, securing, and deploying containers.
  • Experience collaborating with application development teams across the software development lifecycle to solve complex problems within a team setting.
  • Secret clearance is required.
  • Bachelor's degree, or 8+ years of experience in DevOps in lieu of a degree.

Nice If You Have

  • Experience developing enterprise cloud-native solutions involving Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Jenkins, or Azure
  • Experience creating and improving continuous automation across multiple technical stacks
  • Experience creating and improving continuous deployment tools built on Kubernetes
  • Experience triaging and resolving issues related to both open source and commercial tools in public cloud environments
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Linux Shell Script
  • Master's degree

Work Model

  • Onsite: Work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with collaboration with colleagues and customers as required by the role.
  • Hybrid: Regular work from a Booz Allen facility with potential visits to customer facilities, in alignment with leadership expectations and role needs.
  • Remote: Some positions may be remote; occasional in-person requirements may apply at Booz Allen or customer sites.

Clearance

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Secret clearance is required.

Compensation

The projected compensation range for this role is USD 77,600 to USD 176,000 annually. Compensation is determined by factors including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific considerations. This range represents typical pay for the position and is one component of the total compensation package.
