Cybersecurity Documentation Specialist
Job Description
The Cybersecurity Documentation Specialist role supports the Department of Energy (DOE) Cybersecurity Program in Oak Ridge, Tennessee at an onsite location. AtkinsRéalis is seeking a documentation-focused professional to help manage compliance deliverables, maintain audit-ready records, and coordinate documentation activities tied to DOE requirements.
This position centers on producing and maintaining cybersecurity documentation packages, tracking plans of action, and partnering with cybersecurity specialists and technical subject matter experts to keep program documentation current and aligned with federal and DOE directives.
Responsibilities
- Support the development, maintenance, review, and revision of cybersecurity policies, procedures, plans, standards, forms, and other program documentation in accordance with DOE cybersecurity requirements.
- Assist with preparation and management of Risk Management Approach (RMA) documentation required by DOE Order 205.1D and associated DOE cybersecurity directives.
- Support development and maintenance of Interim Authority to Operate (IATO) and Authority to Operate (ATO) documentation packages.
- Maintain Cybersecurity Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) and track actions, commitments, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate cybersecurity inspections, assessments, reviews, audits, and related documentation activities.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity specialists and technical subject matter experts to gather information and develop required compliance documentation.
- Develop, edit, format, proofread, and manage cybersecurity reports, templates, forms, records, and correspondence.
- Assist with document control, version management, records retention, and configuration management activities.
- Support implementation of DOE cybersecurity requirements for unclassified, sensitive unclassified, and classified information systems.
- Maintain cybersecurity program records and ensure documentation remains current and audit-ready.
- Track assignments, prioritize competing deadlines, and support multiple cybersecurity initiatives simultaneously.
- Support the execution of Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS) guiding principles, core functions, and the Isotek Safety Culture.
- Support DOE cybersecurity program documentation, compliance coordination, records administration, and administrative support activities.
- Stop work without fear of reprisal when unsafe conditions present a risk to personnel, operations, or the environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience supporting cybersecurity, compliance, information assurance, technical documentation, records management, or related administrative functions.
- Prior experience supporting DOE cybersecurity programs or federal cybersecurity compliance activities preferred.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Word, including document formatting, editing, revision tracking, template development, and document production.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to develop, edit, proofread, and maintain complex technical and compliance documentation.
- Experience working collaboratively with technical subject matter experts and cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and terminology, including NIST publications and DOE cybersecurity requirements.
- Experience using issue tracking, action item tracking, project management, or workflow management tools preferred.
- Ability to prioritize workloads and manage multiple assignments in a dynamic environment.
- Experience supporting audits, assessments, inspections, compliance reviews, or records management activities preferred.
- Must be able to work onsite in Oak Ridge, Tennessee; this is not a remote or telework position.

Compensation & Benefits
- Expected compensation range: $65,000 - $109,000 per year, depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
