Job Description

Guidehouse seeks a Cybersecurity Director in Arlington, VA, onsite, to steer enterprise-scale security engagements across federal programs. This senior leader will fuse governance, risk management, and compliance with strategic business development and client leadership, advancing the firm’s cybersecurity services in government environments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee enterprise-level cyber advisory engagements, ensuring alignment with EO 14028, OMB guidance, CISA directives, and NIST frameworks.
  • Drive business development and capture efforts to expand cybersecurity offerings, including proposal leadership, client relationship management, and revenue growth.
  • Manage delivery of major cybersecurity engagements to ensure quality, scalability, and adherence to federal standards.
  • Contribute thought leadership through publications, conferences, and industry forums to highlight the firm’s cybersecurity services.
  • Advise executive leadership (CISO, CIO, CDO) and interagency partners on cybersecurity strategy and risk posture.
  • Bridge cybersecurity technical competencies with IT, data, and AI capabilities to advance risk management approaches for clients and prospects.
  • Incorporate Zero Trust principles into enterprise services and drive adoption per NIST SP 800-207, CISA, DOW, and IC frameworks and Zero Trust Maturity Model approaches in engagements and potential new work.
  • Set and monitor program performance with KPIs, maturity models, and compliance metrics to improve operations and reduce risk, including faster patching, quicker recovery, and stronger continuous monitoring to support Authority to Operate.
  • Mentor multidisciplinary teams, foster communities of practice, embed learning loops, and promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Ten (10)+ years of overall relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Active and maintained SECRET (or higher) federal security clearance.
  • Experience in cybersecurity risk management and governance, including senior leadership roles.
  • Federal department-level experience delivering cybersecurity programs.
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal IT/security and privacy procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to influence an AI-first, data-driven mindset and foster collaboration, innovation, and best practices.
  • Proven track record in leading capture, building pipeline, and increasing win-rate across federal segments while meeting annual targets (e.g., bookings, utilization).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams and deliver complex cybersecurity programs.
  • Strong communication skills for audiences ranging from C-Suite to technical specialists.
  • US Citizenship is required. Sponsorship is not eligible for this position.
