Job Description
PayPal is hiring a cybersecurity leader to help shape long-term security strategy and the technology roadmap that supports business goals. This hybrid role is based in Chicago, IL, with additional virtual and location pay ranges listed below. In this position, you will partner with senior executives and cross-functional teams to address complex, high-impact security challenges and enable teams to deliver innovative solutions aligned with multi-year security plans.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and strategic counsel to senior executives, helping define multi-year security strategies that align with business goals and long-term objectives.
- Determine effective methods and strategies for complex security challenges, driving innovation through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Identify and resolve unique, high-impact security issues using deep expertise, developing solutions that influence the organization’s security framework.
- Lead development of the future technology roadmap, shaping a security vision that supports business growth and competitive advantage.
- Oversee development and execution of key components of the multi-year security strategy, contributing to the broader security agenda.
- Inspire and motivate team(s) to pursue innovative solutions, ensuring alignment with security strategy and business objectives while fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 years of experience leading others.

- Base salary range: USD 198,000 - 294,250 per year
- Additional locations (pay range):
- Virginia - (Virtual): ($198,000.00 - $294,250.00 Annually)
- Chicago, Illinois: ($198,000.00 - $294,250.00 Annually)
- Scottsdale, Arizona: ($188,000.00 - $279,400.00 Annually)
