Cybersecurity Director

RemX is seeking a Cybersecurity Director for an on-site role in Knoxville, TN, offering USD 180,000–200,000 per year and requiring at least 10 years of leadership experience along with a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the cybersecurity organization, guiding cross-functional teams and aligning talent, performance, and career development with strategic objectives.
• Act as a change agent to modernize team cultures, processes, and technologies, delivering scalable, secure solutions.
• Champion innovative initiatives and continuous improvement across people, processes, and technology landscapes.
• Oversee day-to-day cybersecurity operations, ensuring reliable protection and rapid incident response.
• Drive technical implementations, from design through deployment, across security controls and supporting platforms.
• Direct strategic planning and execution of cybersecurity initiatives that align with business goals.
• Develop and maintain a technical roadmap for cybersecurity programs and architecture.
• Monitor network and systems performance, applying metrics and proactive tuning to reduce risk.
• Plan capacity and resource requirements to sustain security operations at scale.
• Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive security policies and regulatory compliance standards.
• Design secure architectures and implement security-by-design across platforms and ecosystems.
• Lead incident response, forensics, and root-cause investigations with formal lessons learned.
• Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery planning, testing, and readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Cybersecurity, IT or related field
• Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in IT
• 7+ years leading cybersecurity within an enterprise-wide organization
• Experience in staff leadership, development, and coaching
• Experience in regulatory compliance
• Healthcare industry experience is helpful
