Job Description

Phoenix Cyber is hiring a Cybersecurity Consultant (SOAR) for onsite work in the Washington, DC / Northern Virginia area. This role sits on the client delivery team and focuses on security automation and orchestration to help organizations respond to incidents with speed and consistency.

You will work alongside like-minded, cross-functional teammates in a fast-paced environment where real-world technical experience matters. If you enjoy building practical cybersecurity solutions, collaborating with SMEs and engineering partners, and adapting quickly to evolving requirements, this is a strong fit.

Responsibilities

  • Apply technical expertise and hands-on experience to design and deliver innovative cybersecurity solutions, including SOAR-related work
  • Develop and implement automation to support incident response workflows
  • Collaborate proactively to develop and design security orchestrations with SMEs/engineers, vendors, and project stakeholders
  • Adapt to a fast-changing environment while working with a cross-functional team

Requirements

  • STEM-related degree and/or minimum 5 years of experience
  • 5+ years developing with Python
  • Working knowledge of Bash and PowerShell
  • At least 3 years of software development experience with COTS integration
  • Working knowledge of at least one programming language such as C#, JavaScript, or Node.js
  • Experience with API development/consumption
  • Prior consulting experience

  • Linux administration experience
  • Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, Google, or Azure)
  • Experience with the ELK stack, ECK, Kafka, Beats, and/or Splunk
  • Experience using Agile methodologies
  • Prior government or large enterprise experience
  • Government security clearance

Location: Washington, DC (onsite)
Compensation: USD 150,000 - 200,000 per year
Experience: 5+ years
Education: Degree in a STEM related discipline
