Job Description
Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect to help develop, deploy, and sustain next-generation Space Sensing capabilities for the Space Force. In this role, you will act as a central security authority across security posture assessments, lifecycle and risk management, and secure data transport with resilient communications.

- Location: El Segundo, CA (onsite)
Compensation
- Salary range: USD 86,800 - 198,000 per yearly
- Projected compensation range: $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD)
- Note: Salary is determined by factors including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
Role Overview
You will lead architectural and operational security efforts for mission-critical government mission systems. Responsibilities include serving as the senior technical authority for high availability, secure data transport, and resilient communications across the sustainment portfolio, while supporting testing, evaluation, verification, and validation activities.
Responsibilities
- Lead assessments of the current security posture and recommend mitigation strategies across the portfolio.
- Partner with cyber personnel to track and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Act as the central security authority to move assessment findings into actionable operational and acquisition channels.
- Advise Chief Engineers to ensure critical security modifications and architectural upgrades are reflected in strategic roadmaps with clear deployment pathways.
- Ensure vital cybersecurity requirements are accurately prioritized and captured in government funding requests.
- Serve as the senior architectural authority for the government customer.
- Lead sustainment, optimization, security, and lifecycle management for complex, mission-critical networks supporting government mission systems.
- Provide primary technical authority for high availability, secure data transport, and resilient communication paths across the sustainment portfolio.
- Test, analyze, evaluate, validate, and verify the systems.
- Identify areas requiring urgent mitigation upfront to enable development with advanced technology solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience as a cybersecurity engineer supporting space-related Major Defense Acquisition Programs, including space, ground, and hardware systems, or defensive cyber operations.
- Experience providing input to the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and related documentation.
- Experience developing, integrating, and performing technical analysis of cybersecurity architectures.
- Experience developing threat scenarios to support Cyber Tabletop (CTT) exercises or executing Cyber Risk Assessments.
- Experience designing or implementing security solutions for interconnected environments such as traditional LAN/WAN or cloud.
- Ability to ensure cybersecurity concepts, computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies are integrated into system and program architectures.
- Ability to brief senior leaders, translate technical requirements for non-technical audiences, and provide direct feedback to cybersecurity engineers or systems engineers on cyber architectures.
- Top Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- DoD 8140 Intermediate Certification such as Security+, GSEC, or CSSLP certification.
Preferred / Nice If You Have
- Experience with space-based remote sensing systems or ground satellite operations centers.
- Experience developing system security Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and defining baseline system security requirements.
- Experience with the Strategic Missile Warning architecture, its programs, and the organizations supporting the mission.
- Experience with ground antenna, networking, distributed systems, or data orchestration.
- Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Information Assurance, Information Security, or a related technical field preferred; Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Information Assurance, Information Security, or a related technical field a plus.
- DoD 8140 Advanced Certification such as CISSP-ISSEP, CISSP-ISSAP, GDSA, or CCNP certification.

Clearance and Security Investigation
